Audiences are urged to bring a cushion and enjoy four days’ worth of free exhibitions, performances, speeches and installations, as young people take over the Royal Exchange Theatre Studio in Manchester for Futureworlds, from Thursday to Saturday.

Manchester Camerata, one of the UK's leading chamber orchestras, returns to Live at LICA's Great Hall at Lancaster University next Thursday with a programme that delves into the world of Berlin cabaret and political theatre between 1900-1933 and beyond.

The co-founders of the hugely influential Chicago-based performance company, Goat Island, bring their new piece Testimonium to Live at LICA's Nuffield Theatre on the Lancaster University campus next Wednesday and Thursday.

Only weeks after it wowed audiences in Manchester the revival of the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers comes to Blackpool Grand Theatre.

The show runs from Monday to Saturday.

Celebrating 20 years since its first staged performance, West End leading lady and Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton stars in a concert tour of the musical Rent, which will also star the runner-up of ITV’s Superstar, Rory Taylor, and opens at Blackpool Opera House on Monday night.

On Friday November 29 it’s also at the Palace Theatre, Manchester.

The award-winning revival of popular post-war musical Singin’ In The Rain starts its national tour at the Opera House in Manchester.

It pours indoors here until November 30.

Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake returns to The Lowry in Salford next week starring Cheshire-born dancer Simon Williams as The Prince.

It runs from Tuesday to Saturday.

Show and Tell and The Arches present Beats at Manchester Contact next Saturday, written and performed by Kieran Hurley.

It’s a coming-of-age story exploring rebellion, apathy and the irresistible power of gathered youth.
