The musical theatre hit Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a new tour that comes to Manchester Opera House this week. It tells the enduring tale of the musical icon's rise to fame and his tragic and untimely death at the age of 22 in 1959.

Inspired by the multi-million selling albums of the same name, the West End hit Dreamboats And Petticoats returns to the Palace Theatre, Manchester this week. Since premièring in 2009 and having played to more than two million people across the UK, Dreamboats features some of the greatest songs of the rock 'n' roll era.

Following the critical success of Little Shop of Horrors, the King’s Arms Theatre in Salford’s next big in-house event is Mashed Up North. The festival is the first of its kind under artistic director James Baker and will for the first time at the venue make use of the newly refurbished main theatre space and also the new intimate 25-seat Studio 1 space.

Three bedrooms, four couples and one chaotic night all means Oldham Coliseum is reviving Alan Ayckbourn’s Bedroom Farce. The production runs to February 22.
