Layla's Room at The Dukes

Christmas comes a little earlier to Preston Charter Theatre with a musical performance of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.

A new play reflecting teenagers’ lives comes to The Dukes in Lancaster next Tuesday. Layla's Room is a new play by award-winning Sabrina Mahfouz inspired by a national survey of 1,000 teenagers.

A new interpretation of the classic opera Aida, starring international French soprano Olga Perrier in the title role, and Liza Kadelnik a celebrated mezzo from the Romanian National Opera as Amneris, heads to the Grand in Blackpool next Thursday.

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor is backing a new play about breast cancer prediction and prevention, in memory of Manchester-based co-star and friend, Morag Siller, who lost her battle with the disease in April this year. The world première of Genesis is at The Lowry, Salford, next Friday and Saturday, but it also comes to the Continental in Preston on November 23.

Opera North explores the unspoken, the hidden and the mysterious as it returns to The Lowry in Salford Quays with four compelling operas, each with a secret at its heart.

Things I Know To Be True is an international co-production between Frantic Assembly and State Theatre Company of South Australia, with a starry cast. It’s at The Lowry in Salford next Tuesday to Saturday.

An Evening Of Burlesque at Manchester Opera House next Friday is just that.

Children of Cain by Postcard Theatre opens at the Kings Arms in Salford from Monday to Thursday.
