Opera visits the Lakes

English Touring Opera

Keswick's Theatre by the Lake has announced a programme of visiting productions that will include English Touring Opera with Handel's Guilio Cesare (Julius Caesar).

The opera will be presented as two standalone pieces on consecutive nights: The Death of Pompey and Cleopatra's Needle with a cast led by Christopher Ainslie.

Also appearing at the Keswick theatre will be Irish folk artist Cara Dillon, musical storytelling from Kathryn Tickell with David Almond and Amy Thatcher, tribute bands The Take That Experience, The Karpenters and Ultimate Bowie and Keswick favourites The Demon Barbers, The Mighty Doonans and The Mandolinquents.

Other events include Remember Iraq performed by Keswick Peace and Human Rights Group, poetry from An Evening with Pam Ayres and a talk from mountaineer Doug Scott.
