With August heralding the peak of summer time, it's time to look ahead to Christmas and the last array of stars being announced as autumn / winter seasons go on sale at theatres up and down the country.

In Liverpool, Corrie's Sally Lindsay will star in her first pantomime as Fairy Bowbells with fellow soapstar Ricky Groves aka Gary from EastEnders announced as Captain Hook at the Hazlitt Arts Centre, Maidstone.

In Margate, Wicked Pantomimes welcomes Danny Young as Aladdin in its first production for the venue, whilst Aylesbury audiences get ready to boo X-Factor's Melanie Masson as Queen Rat.

TOWIE's Dan Osborne joins the ever-growing star cast of Derby Arena's inaugural production of Aladdin as the Genie with one time Big Brother star Nikki Grahame starring as Tinkerbelle in the Grange Theatre, Northwich's Peter Pan.

Golden Globe and BAFTA-winning actress Hayley Mills becomes the latest global star to traipse the panto stage for First Family Entertainment. She joins the cast of Richmond's Cinderella alongside Chris Jarvis in his second season at the venue and Matthew Kelly and Matthew Rixon, last seen as Ugly Sisters together in Wimbledon, 2014.

Cinderella is also the title of this year's King's Theatre, Southsea pantomime, where TOWIE's James 'Arg' Argent will play Dandini.

A number of venues are welcoming back familiar faces in their productions of Jack and the Beanstalk. In Winchester, Andy Medhurst returns as the Comic, whilst at the Hackney Empire Clive Rowe and Kat B are reunited yet again as Dame Daisy and Snowman. In a departure from Hackney's previous Jack and the Beanstalk, 2015 will see a female Principal Boy in the form of Debbie Kurup.

To celebrate their 50th anniversary panto, Guildford's Jack and the Beanstalk welcomes back Peter Gordon, Kit Hesketh-Harvey and Jamie Brook. The three Yvonne Arnaud regulars will be joined by Dillie Keane as the Fairy.

In Nottingham, John Elkington, Danielle Corlass and Tim Frater return to the Playhouse for another season of fun in Dick Whittington, whilst Terence Frisch is back at the Palace Theatre, Watford as Dame in Andrew Pollard's re-telling of the rags to riches tale.

Beauty and the Beast is the title of choice for the Capitol Theatre, Horsham this year where Andrew Hayden-Smith joins Olly Pike and Zoe Adkin last seen as Dandini and Cinderella in 2014's panto at the venue.

In Scotland, Imagine Theatre launches its new title Peter Pan with Iain Wotherspoon and Ross Allan as Nanny McSmee and Smee at the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness whilst over at the University of Glasgow, researchers have teamed up with actors, writers and comedians to creature Panto Science: The Periodic Fable. The show runs at the Edinburgh Fringe 6 to 30 August at the Assembly Rooms.

It's all change in Oxford as Soho Theatre's Steve Marmion replaces Peter Duncan as resident panto writer and director having co-written and directed a tripartite of pantos at the Lyric Hammersmith.

Change has also been the word of the month at Qdos who have not only announced they will be producing Bromley's pantomime in 2016, but have redesigned their web site which is now full of lots of production images and information.

And finally... with only a few months to go until Panto Season 2015, Celebrate Panto is looking for professional dames to participate in a special project for Panto Day 2015: Friday 11 December. If you're a professional dame and would like to be involved, e-mail [email protected].
