Theatre is alive and well and living in Preston, at The Continental.

Local cultural producer TheyEatCulture has unveiled its biggest theatre season yet: a selection of work ranging from radio shows, raves and chip shop love stories, to life-changing body movements.

The first show next week, Dirty Pakistani Lingerie, depicts the stories of six Pakistani-American Muslim women ranging in age from a 6-year-old to a 65-year-old at the juncture of two different cultures.

Chip Shop Chips is an immersive love story set in a chippy performing in unusual spaces across the North, and March 9 sees it at Preston’s Foxton Centre. Manchester’s Box of Tricks Theatre provides dinner, dance and a show all rolled into one, and the ticket price includes a fish 'n' chip supper!

On March 10, London’s Sh!t Theatre stages Women's Hour, a cabaret about what happens when women are given just one hour a day to think about what it is to be a woman.

Written by the award-winning author of Bantams, Rob Johnston, The Human Touch on April 14 explores the UK care system through the eyes of the cared for and their carers.

Meanwhile, LaPelle’s Factory makes performances that question expectations, relationships and modern ideals, and you’ll find them at The Continental on April 27.

Inspired by the confessional radio show of the same name, Late Night Love on April 28 is an attempt to unpick the truth from the fiction of power ballads.

Paines Plough appear at the Preston venue for the first time on May 5 with theatre & music crossover show With a Little Bit of Luck.
