Print Room's Shakespeare debut and Williams première

Print Room at the Coronet's autumn 2016 season will feature the company's first Shakespeare production, The Tempest, and the UK première of Tennessee Williams's A Lovely Day For Creve Coeur.

Michael Oakley will direct the Williams play (12 September to 7 October) to open the season. In familiar Williams territory, it's Sunday morning in early June in 1930s St Louis in a sweltering apartment as Dorothea completes her rigorous daily exercise regime and Bodey is in the kitchen frying chicken for a picnic at Creve Couer Lake. But Dorothea's mind is elsewhere: she is hoping for a call from the man of her dreams.

Paper Music (9 to 14 October) is a collaboration between two South African artists, William Kentridge and Philip Miller, in which film based on Kentridge's charcoal and ink drawings is combined with live music composed by Miller and performed by vocalists Ann Masina and Joanna Dudley and pianist Vincenzo Pasquariello.

New from Riotous Company is SCHERZO for Piano and Stick (17 to 20 October), a new chamber piece, devised with director Tage Larsen from Odin Teatret, in which composer Nikola Kodjabashia plays piano with voice and percussion while Mia Theil Have performs with a 1.9m wooden stick.

Composer Jocelyn Pook's Hearing Voices (1 to 4 November) combines the experiences of Pook's great aunt, who spent much of her life in an asylum, with the testimonies of four other women diagnosed with mental illness.

Simon Usher will direct The Tempest (21 November to 17 December), Print Room's first Shakespeare production, with a special emphasis on "inspiring younger audiences". Design will be by Lee Newby.

Poetry at the Print Room will continue its literary evenings with events on 11 October, 15 November and 20 December featuring Mona Arshi, Luke Kennard and Helen Mort.
