Quadrophenia Cast Announced

After an intensive search and a series of workshops, the young cast for the stage version of Pete Townshend's Quadrophenia has been announced.

Four young actors will share the role of Jimmy - Ryan O’Donnell (Jimmy, the Romantic), Jack Roth (Jimmy, the Lunatic), George Maguire (Jimmy, the Tough Guy) and Rob Kendrick (Jimmy, the Hypocrite). Sydney Rae White will play ‘The Girl’.

The cast also features Kirsty Malone (Mum), Dawn Sievewright (Guardian Angel) Iris Roberts (Guardian Angel), Lillie Flynn (Guardian Angel) John Schumacher (Dad), Kevin Wathen (The Godfather), Ryan Gage (Ace Face), Tom Robertson (Gang Leader), Daniel Curtis (Swing), Sean Croke (Swing) and Brennan Reece (Swing).

The show, with music, lyrics and concept by Pete Townshend and stage adaptation by Jeff Young, John O’Hara and Tom Critchley, will pen at the Plymouth Theatre Royal on 9th May prior to a six month tour of the UK which will take in:

  • His Majesty’s, Aberdeen (17 – 22 August)
  • Liverpool Empire (24 – 29 August)
  • Brighton Theatre Royal (31 August – 5 September)
  • Wolverhampton Grand (21 – 26 September)
  • Coventry Belgrade (28 September – 3 October)
  • Oxford Playhouse (5 – 10 October)
  • Wimbledon Theatre (19 – 24 October)
  • Mayflower, Southampton (26 – 31 October)
  • Hexagon, Reading (2 – 7 November)

Set in London and Brighton at the height of the Mod era, Quadrophenia is told through the eyes of Jimmy, a hedonistic style-conscious teenager searching for a place to belong and a girl to love. Misunderstood by his parents and stuck in a dead end job, he sets off on a trip to Brighton that will change his life forever.

The production is directed by Tom Critchley, with choreography by Frances Newman.
