Next month, the RADAR new writing festival returns to London's Bush Theatre after a successful first year in 2012.

Those whose theatre work will be showcased include Caroline Horton, currently a Bush Associate Artist, Lee Mattinson, Kieran Hurley, performance artist Bryony Kimmings, AJ Taudevin and Patrice Etienne and there is poetry from Sabrina Mahfouz. Participating companies include Atresbandes from Catalonia and Ideastap Underbelly Award–winning Antler.

A set of four debates on Breaking Walls—Building Bridges will run alongside the theatre performances together with a programme of free workshops for postgraduate performing arts students.

Artistic Director Madani Younis said today, “RADAR is an opportunity to think differently about the work we make and the questions we ask about the role of theatre in our society, to reach out and involve our local community with our artistic programme in new ways and a meeting point of ideas and voices that think beyond the current status quo, profiling alternative narratives and imagining new solutions.

“RADAR is the time of the year where we test and workshop our most dangerous, risky and innovative ideas with our audience and community and we shape our thinking for the future.

"This year’s festival will shine a spotlight on the hottest new writing talent of today and explore the urgent questions facing theatre in this moment and beyond.”

RADAR 2013 runs from 6 to 21 November. For further information and booking visit the Bush Theatre web site.
