Maison Foo's Pendulums Bargain Emporium

“Quirky and inventive” Derby-based theatre company Maison Foo is taking its second show to its home town as the final date of a national tour.

Pendulums Bargain Emporium, which played at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, will be at dance-focused arts centre Déda on Saturday 1 November.

Pendulums Bargain Emporium takes its inspiration from the fairy tale The Elves and the Shoemaker and blends storytelling, live music, clowning and puppetry.

Set in a shop where happiness and success are a simple transaction away, the show is a “darkly comic and shameless shopping experience like no other that treads a fine line between greed and necessity”.

Maison Foo was formed in 2007. It specialises in “mischievous new theatre” incorporating visual/physical theatre, puppetry, object manipulation and clowning.
