Christiaan De Villiers has joined the strategic management team at Northampton’s Royal and Derngate, taking on the role of operations director for the theatre and the Errol Flynn Filmhouse.
He has a wealth of theatre management experience, having worked as general manager for Live Nation venues, the Sunderland Empire, the White Rock Theatre in Hastings and Ambassador Theatre Group venues Liverpool Empire, Bristol Hippodrome and Richmond Theatre.
Royal and Derngate chief executive Martin Sutherland said, “Christiaan brings a great mix of skills and experience to the role of operations director and I’m looking forward to collaborating with him as we continue to develop the vision and scope of the organisation.”
De Villiers added, “Royal and Derngate is loved by its audiences and community. I’m delighted to have joined the venue at such an exciting time in its history.
