The new season at HOME Manchester

HOME Manchester's season from January 2024 features work from a number of visiting companies.

Choreography Hofesh Shechter will return to Manchester with a new production, From England With Love, which "takes a deep exploration into the heart of our country through soul searching dance that seeks to open up the conflict within" with music raging from English classical composers to rock.

CRIPtic Arts, a disabled led creative hub, will also bring a new work, Self & Other, which looks at whether it is possible for disabled people to be 'self' without the support of another in a series of short monologues performed by Jasmin Thien, Ada Eravama and Jessi Parrott. Big Finish, in which "death is starred in the face, but with twists and turns of curiosity and hope", has been commissioned by HOME from Figs in Wigs.

Deafinitely Theatre with Birmingham Rep and Lyric Hammersmith will present The Promise by Paula Garfield and Melissa Mostyn, which will "confront the barriers faced by someone who is deaf and finds themselves living with dementia", while in A Family Business, Chris Thorpe will examine the threat posed by nuclear weapons through the ordinary people in charge of managing them.

Phosphoros Theatre, whose actors all came to this country as refugees, looks at the subject of migration in Tender, while Ephemerol Ensemble's Rewind tries to unpick the events that led up to the death of a young woman who stood up to authoritarianism. No More Mr Nice Guy is 'gig' theatre from Nouveau Riche that "focuses on British Caribbean Music Teacher Keloughn Douglas, whose career aspirations, musical ambitions and heart’s desire are all colliding". HOME Young Company will present We’re all Just Wasps in Glass Houses.

Dave Moutrey, outgoing Director and CEO of HOME, said, “we are thrilled to be working with such an incredible range of artists, performers, writers and creatives and excited to see them bring their stories to our audiences at HOME.”
