After tackling sex, climate change and homelessness, the award-winning Contact Young Company in Manchester takes on cancer.

There is a Light: Brightlight will première at Contact before embarking on two national tours.

Made possible by support from the Wellcome Trust, the performance takes direct inspiration from Brightlight, a £2m study funded by the National Institute for Health Research that seeks specialist services for teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Brian Lobel (A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer with Bryony Kimmings and Tom Parkinson) has staged workshops with CYC alongside four young performers with direct experience of cancer care.
