Toksvig and Langford Are Short and Curly

Broadcaster/comedienne Sandi Toksvig and West End star Bonnie Langford have been friends for years and they have worked together many times. Both have presented their own one woman shows. Now, with more than 50 years' show business experience between them, they are starring together in the ultimate two woman show - Short & Curly, a night of comedy, songs, sketches, and revealing reminiscences.

A well known broadcaster, Sandi Toksvig is best known for presenting Excess Baggage every Saturday on BBC Radio 4. She writes regular columns in both The Sunday Telegraph and Good Housekeeping magazine and has written thirteen books. She was born in Denmark and brought up in Europe, Africa, and the United States.

Her first brush with showbusiness came when she took a year off her studies to work as a lighting technician in the West End on Jesus Christ Superstar. While at Cambridge she wrote and starred in the first all-woman show for the Footlights review. She graduated with a first class degree in law then went to work on various productions for Nottingham Playhouse, including Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music. On children's television, her presenting work included the Saturday morning show No. 73 for which she was also a writer. She moved on to the comedy circuit, radio, and mainstream television. She first performed on the improvisation show Whose Line Is It Anyway?. She was a panellist on the BBC Radio 4 spoof game show I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, and the BBC 2 word game Call My Bluff. She also co-presented Island Race with John McCarthy.

Bonnie Langford has packed a wealth of showbusiness experience into her career which has embraced success in films, TV and theatre in both Britain and America.

She has just completed a series of Strictly Dance Fever on BBC1 as consultant and advisor to the contestants. Other recent TV appearances include the BBC's Celebration of the Sound of Music. Currently, she can be heard as a co-presenter of the award-winning Sandi Toksvig Show on LBC Radio in London, and has also presented her own programme on many occasions both for LBC and the BBC.

In theatre, she recently created the role of Judy in the world premiere production of Pete 'N' Me at the New End Theatre, Hampstead. She starred in Big Night Out At The Little Palace Theatre - a new musical play written by Sandi Toksvig with music by Dillie Keane.

In the UK, Bonnie headlined the international tour of the Tony award-winning musical, Fosse. At festivals and concert venues throughout the world, Bonnie's one woman show has played to critical acclaim, paying tribute to the music from stage and screen as well as jazz, rhythmn & blues, soul and current chart hits, accompanied by her big band.

In the West End, she played the lead roles in seven smash hit musicals including Sweet Charity, Me And My Girl, Peter Pan ­ The Musical, Cats, The Pirates of Penzance, Gypsy and Gone With The Wind. She has also appeared in three Royal Variety performances and in numerous royal galas. On Broadway, she starred in a revival of Gypsy opposite Angela Lansbury, following a highly successful major US tour.
