Unity Theatre in Liverpool and Riksteatern stage the world première performance of Nina—a story about me and Nina Simone from October 15 to 29 before embarking on a six-month tour of Sweden.
It touches on the 1960s Civil Rights movement, Nina’s well-documented struggles as well as performer Josette Bushell-Mingo’s own personal challenges.
Using text, music and song the production will take audiences into the hopes, dreams, sorrows and successes of both Josette and the incomparable Simone.
