Playwright Suhayla El-Bushra will lead the How to Begin Playwriting course at the National Theatre.

The course will look at approaches to beginning playwriting, techniques, exercises and approaches to writing, with opportunities for discussion and shared group critiques.

El-Bushra's adaptation of The Suicide was staged at the Lyttelton in 2016 whilst she was writer-in-residence at the National Theatre Studio (April 2015 to August 2016).

The cost of the course is £500 or £350 for senior citizens and students with bursaries available. It runs on Tuesday evenings from 16 January for ten weeks.

The deadline for applications is 5PM on 22 December.
