As previously reported, the National Theatre is taking part in the pilot of the Relaxed Performances Project, an initiative intended to provide access to live theatre performance for people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, learning disability or sensory and communication disorders.

The recently announced relaxed performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time scheduled for June will be the third such performance from the NT. The play, based on Mark Haddon’s award-winning novel, concerns fifteen-year old Christopher Boone, who has behavioural problems.

Visual and auditory adaptations are being made to the production, a quiet area is being provided for those who need to leave the auditorium and there will be a Q&A after the performance with the actors who will remain in costume.

The relaxed performance takes place at the matinée on June 22 at London's Apollo Theatre.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is suitable for ages 11 and over.
