Companies may earn a commission as Caroline Horton did for You're Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy

Ten regional companies are needed for a festival of new theatre work in Birmingham in May.

China Plate Theatre have joined forces with mac Birmingham, Coventry’s Warwick Arts Centre, greenhouse which aims to help contemporary theatre thrive across the south east and east of England and East Midlands artist development programme In Good Company to produce the 2015 First Bite Festival.

The festival will take place at mac on 2 May. All artists presenting work will be paid a fee and two of the programmed companies will go on to receive a commission of £3,000 to develop the work and present it during Bite Size at Warwick Arts Centre in November.

Previous Bite Size commissions include Caroline Horton’s Olivier Award-nominated You’re Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy.

Applications from both West and East Midlands companies should be submitted by 13 March. More information is available at the China Plate web site.
