Thom Southerland

Thom Southerland is the first artistic director at London's Charing Cross Theatre as the venue becomes a producing house.

Southerland has had many directorial successes including Titanic at Southwark Playhouse, a production he revives in his first season at the Charing Cross Theatre.

Death Takes A Holiday which will have its European première under Southerland is the sequel to Titanic, also written by Maury Yeston (music and lyrics) and Peter Stone (book).

Southerland will also direct Ragtime which has music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and book by Terrence McNally whilst Ben Woolf will direct Radio Times which was seen at the Watermill and then on tour in 2012 which has music by Me and My Girl writer Noel Gay and book by Abi Grant with additional material from Alex Armitage.

Thom Southerland's inaugural season is

  • Titanic –28 May to 6 August
  • Radio Times –20 August to 1 October
  • Ragtime –8 October to 26 November
  • Death Takes A Holiday –3 December to 21 January
