War Horse will return to The Lowry in Salford next year.
The highly anticipated north west première this November has become the best-selling show in the venue’s 13-year history with 80,000 tickets already sold.
Marketing director Jon Gilchrist says: “There are still tickets available for Christmas this year but they are selling fast.
"By putting an extra 100,000 tickets on sale for summer 2014, we can ensure that even more people from across the north west will get the chance to see this landmark theatre event.”
War Horse has now been seen by more than four million people worldwide.
Set at the outbreak of World War One, it tells the story of Albert and his beloved horse Joey. The second run coincides with a number of key dates in the commemoration of the First World War centenary year, the first being July 28, 2014 which marks 100 years since the the outbreak of the conflict.
