The Student Guide to Writing launches the Web Series, a project looking at writing for online drama and showcasing the work of students writing for this sector.

Jennifer Tuckett, director of The Student Guide to Writing series said, "with BBC Three going online last year, it's increasingly important writers know how to write web series and for online drama. It's also a form which lends itself to being made by yourself and collaborators and serving as a calling card, helping writers into careers and as an example of work.

"We hope the project will provide access to and publish the leading training coming out of the industry on how to write for web series and online drama for the first time, as well as providing a showcase of the most talented student writers in the UK."

The Student Guide to Writing: Web Series is supported by Boundless Theatre, Writers at Work Productions, the MA Dramatic Writing at Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins, Art School, and Shelley Productions.

The Student Guide to Writing: Web Series will have its official launch at London Writers' Week here there will also be a Student Guide to Writing bootcamp for writers across theatre, film, television, radio and digital media.

The Web series initiative follows the successful completion of The Student Guide to Writing: Playwriting project and competition, run with the Bush Theatre, Oberon Books, the MA Dramatic Writing at Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins and Writers at Work Productions.

More recently, it has been announced that London Writers' Week will donate all profits to the victims of the fire at Grenfell Tower.
