Heart of the action: Parrabbola’s Wheeze – The Wind of Change

A free weekend of European street theatre is to be held as part of the ten-day Journeys Festival International in Leicester.

Journeys Festival International “celebrates the creative talent of exceptional refugee and asylum seeker artists and shares the refugee experience through great art”.

Some theatre companies will be appearing in the UK for the first time as part of Voices, a project led by contemporary arts development agency ArtReach. Voices takes place across four different European countries with newly commissioned, professional outdoor theatre featuring newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers in each host city.

Leicester will stage pieces created in the UK, Romania and Italy. The UK's commission is Wheeze—The Wind of Change by Parrabbola which will be performed in Jubilee Square, Leicester on Saturday 25 August at 11:30AM and 2PM.

The full programme for the festival which takes place from Friday 17 until Sunday 26 August is available at the Journeys Festival International web site.
