Jonny Wilkes and Christian Patterson will team up again in Aladdin, the Christmas 2017 panto at Stoke’s Regent Theatre.

Baddeley Green-born showman Wilkes will make his 12th Regent panto appearance as Aladdin while Patterson will appear alongside him for the eighth time, on this occasion playing his mother Widow Twankey. He is currently appearing in My Country; A Work in Progress at the National Theatre.

For the first time in a Regent panto, a 3D sequence will send audiences flying over Old Peking on a flying carpet.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division, which is producing Aladdin, said, “we know just how well-loved Jonny and Christian are in Stoke, so it makes perfect sense to invite them back. Audiences will be in for a treat.”

The Regent’s general manager Andrew Nicklin added, “it’ll be a spectacular production with lots of comedy and amazing surprises.”

Aladdin will run from Friday 15 December until Sunday 7 January 2018.
