Audiences will be able to follow the yellow brick road at Birmingham REP when the theatre stages a new production of L Frank Baum’s musical The Wizard of Oz at Christmas 2018.
The stage version will feature songs including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, “If I Only Had A Brain” and “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead”.
The REP’s artistic director Roxana Silbert said, “The Wizard of Oz is such a great show that’s perfect for fans of the film and musicals alike. With a glorious cast of characters including a wicked witch and a tail-wagging Toto, a stunning setting, fabulous music and a sprinkling of REP magic, it’s got all the vital ingredients for a wonderful Christmas show for everyone.”
The Wizard of Oz will run from 24 November until 13 January 2019.
