Mon Droit

Mike McShane
Pleasance Courtyard

This short play likens royal obsession to madness. It focuses on Mike McShane’s Robert, a car hire controller from Kansas.

We first meet him in therapy with a physician played, like all of the remaining characters, by versatile Suki Webster.

She is worried about a man whose love of the Queen and suspicion of her consort apparently know no bounds.

We then follow Robert to England where he swaps medication for alcohol and undergoes a series of odd encounters prior to achieving a cathartic closure within sight of the windows of Buckingham Palace.
