Scratchworks Theatre Company
From 03 August 2016 to 29 August 2016
Review by Catherine Lamm
Nel, our title character, is a foley artist. They are the technicians who provide and invent the sound and sound effects during the editing process of movies.
Our cast seem to be very proficient in this. An example; watch Nel flutter rubber gloves together to make the sound of birds in flight.
The cast provide background sounds to the not-so-easy life of Nel. But the delight is the work these women illuminate in the making and creating sound.
Although we do miss some of the work because it happens so quickly and because the sightlines are not always conducive, Scratchworks Theatre Company are so much fun to watch that we are let down a little when they are done.
(Come, peek under the curtain.)
