Helen Brown
Helen Brown's first job in the theatre was in her home town of Ulverston where she worked as an Administrator for Renaissance Theatre Trust. Next, a move to County Durham found her in charge of administration and marketing for Durham Theatre Company in Darlington. It was there in 1985 that she began reviewing theatre for The Northern Echo.
She also worked for Middlesbrough Theatre, Cleveland Theatre Company and was responsible for organising The Bowes Museum Centenary events, all 100 of them, in 1992. Helen is also the founder member of the hugely popular amateur out-door company, The Castle Players, in Barnard Castle which she set up in 1986.
Helen began reviewing for The British Theatre Guide in 2010, whilst still continuing to review and write features as a freelance writer for The Northern Echo in Darlington.
