Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud new season

Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre continues its 50th Anniversary celebrations with its new season.

Alan Ayckbourn's first revival of his comedy Confusions takes to the stage on 13 January, followed by the world première of his latest work, Hero's Welcome.

Featuring a large live orchestra with more than 30 musicians, the Russian State Opera presents Puccini's Madama Butterfly in February, and Jack Lane will take you behind Norman Wisdom's well-known character in Wisdom of a Fool.

William Nicholson's Shadowlands stars Stephen Boxer and tells the love story of Oxford don C S Lewis and American poet Joy Davidman, while Richard Bean's drams Toast stars Matthew Kelly and Simon Greenall.

Winner of the 2014 Moliére Award for Best Play, The Father sees Kenneth Cranham reprise his West End peformance.

Torben Betts's comedy Invincible explores a culture clash between next door neighbours. Thriller, Rehearsal for Murder stars Robert Daws, Amy Robins, Robert Duncan, Susan Penhaligon, Steven Pinder, Lucy Dixon and Bev Nealon.

In a madcap dash around the world with Henry Pulling, four actors take on over 20 characters in Travels with My Aunt and a Manhattan apartment becomes the setting for a viciously hilarious brawl over family, faith and legacy in the West End hit Bad Jews.

Winner of the Olivier Award for Best Play, Clybourne Park is a satire that lifts the lid on race and real estate in a fictional Chicago neighbourhood.

Northern Broadsides bring Shakespeare's light, funny and wickedly entertaining The Merry Wives.

Alfred Hitchcock's classic spy thriller The 39 Steps sees four actors play 130 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced, fun and thrilling action.

Guildford School of Acting present Our House: The Madness Musical, while Guildford's Performance Preparation Academy present the misadventures of love in Sweet Charity.

The season also offers a diverse programme of one-night appearances.
