Newcastle’s Northern Stage has announced casting for its repertory co-productions with Greyscale, Dr Frankenstein and Hedda Gabler: This Is Not a Love Story, part of the Queens of the North season running from 16 February to 11 March.
For Dr Frankenstein, which is adapted by Greyscale’s Selma Dimitrijevic from the novel by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley and which will be directed by Northern Stage’s Artistic Director Lorne Campbell, the cast will be Polly Frame (The Odyssey, English Touring Theatre) who will play Dr Victoria Frankenstein, Ed Gaughan (The Birthday Party, Royal Exchange) as the Creature, Scott Turnbull (Gods Are Fallen And All Safety Gone, Greyscale) as Henry Clerval, Victoria Elliott (Get Carter and The Season Ticket, Northern Stage) as Elizabeth Frankenstein, Donald McBride (Get Carter, Northern Stage, and The Pitmen Painters, Live Theatre) as Victoria’s father, Libby Davison (The Bill, ITV) as Mary, and Rachel Denning (The Vote, Donmar Warehouse) as Justine Moritz.
For Hedda Gabler: This Is not a Love Story, which is adapted and directed by Dimitrijevic, the cast will be Victoria Elliott as Hedda, Rachel Denning as Thea, Ed Gaughan as Hedda’s husband Tesman, Scott Turnbull as Eilert Lövborg, Donald McBride as Judge Brack, Libby Davison as Aunt Julie and Polly Frame as Berte.
