Sunderland Cultural Partnership

Sunderland Cultural Partnership’s project Sunderland 10x10 is seeking proposals from Sunderland and North East based artists to take up a short supported residency, lasting no longer than one month, with ten Sunderland-based businesses, during which the business and the artist will develop a proposal and then pitch for one of two funds to realise their projects.

Submissions are invited from artists and creatives working in all types of contemporary arts practice, including photography, new media, fine art, artists’ moving image, live art, glass and ceramics, crafts, design, architecture, participatory, site-specific, socially-engaged, sound, music, dance, performance, theatre, spoken word and interdisciplinary practices.

The ten businesses which are taking part are:

  • Arc Adoption
  • Ashmore Consultants
  • Business Improvement District
  • FabLab
  • Leighton Group & MAC Trust
  • Northumbria Water
  • SAFC
  • Siglion
  • Sustainable Enterprise Strategies
  • Thompsons Waste

Over the course of one month, each artist and business pairing will collaborate to devise a project proposal that responds creatively to the business’s broad area of interest, through their own artistic practice and approach. After the completion of the residency period, each of the artist/business partnerships will pitch their project proposal to a panel of representatives from the arts and business sectors.

Full details and how to apply can be found in the Sunderland 10x10 PDF document on the Sunderland Cultural Partnership web site.
