Jabberwocky Market

In Darlington for one day only, from 4:30 to 9:00 on Saturday 23 June, Jabberwocky Market presents brand new theatre, including previews, scratches and discussions. The venue is the Liddiard Theatre in Polam Hall and all events are Pay What You Decide.

The programme is:

  • 4:30PM – Pricks (preview) by Jade Byrne
5:40PM – Pricks post-show conversation with the creative team

Jade Byrne is a type 1 diabetic and she’s keen to clear up all the misunderstandings in a blend of spoken word, poetry, projection and an original soundscape.

  • 6:30PM – The Smog (scratch) by Scott Turnbull

The Smog descended on Teesside two weeks ago and since it arrived strange things have been happening, supernatural occurrences and disappearances. Where did it come from? When will it go? And who will survive to tell the tale?

  • 7:30PM – Status (preview) by Chris Thorpe

We all have a nationality. Status is a show about someone who doesn’t want his anymore. About running away from the national story you’re given. About who is responsible for that story and what might happen to it if you give it up.

  • 9:00PM – post show entertainment (tbc)
