Gez Casey

Gez Casey, Literary Manager of Newcastle’s Live Theatre since 2007, leaves the company today and on 18 September will take up his new post as Theatre Relationship manager at Arts Council, whilst also following other freelance opportunities.

As Literary Manager he was responsible for running the Writers' Development Programme, supporting writers, teaching playwriting on the theatre’s online Be a Playwright course and helping to programme the theatre. In the previous twenty years, he had freelanced as an actor, director and writer.

He follows in the footsteps of Artistic Director Max Roberts who stepped down at the weekend and of Carole Wears who left her position as House Manager after 22 years to follow a career as a freelance producer in addition to her being co-organiser of the Prague Fringe.
