From Candoco Dance Company, a company of disabled and non-disabled dance artists, comes a new duet by choreographer Australian-born Caroline Bowditch, who describes herself as a “mosquito buzzing in the ears of the arts industry”.

Performed by Victoria Fox and Welly O’Brien, the piece is a love letter to female friendship celebrating love, life and female strength.

Dedicated to… will tour outdoor festivals around the UK this summer from 26 May, taking in Brighton Festival, Birmingham International Dance Festival, Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, Hat Fair in Winchester, Stockton International Riverside Festival and Lift Off!, the opening weekend of Wiltshire Creative, Salisbury. All performances are free.

Ben Wright and Charlotte Darbyshire, Artistic Co-Directors, said, “Candoco first met Caroline Bowditch at a workshop in Australia in 1996. 22 years later, we present Dedicated to…, Caroline’s first work for the company. It was worth the wait! An impassioned celebration of female friendship that has all the trademarks of a Bowditch piece—sensual, brave and good-humoured, an excellent addition to Candoco’s growing outdoor repertoire.”

Candoco celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016, founded in 1991 by Celeste Dandeker and Adam Benjamin. Artistic Co-Directors Ben Wright and Charlotte Darbyshire joined the company earlier this year, although Darbyshire was a founder member of Candoco.
