This Christmas season, English National Ballet takes its production of Nutcracker to Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre (29 November to 2 December 2017) as well as returning to the London Coliseum (13 December 2017 to 6 January 2018).

In Southampton, Soloist Aitor Arrieta will debut in the role of the Nephew alongside Junior Soloist Rina Kanehara as Clara, following their joint success at Emerging Dancer earlier this year. New Principal Joseph Caley will debut in the role of the Nephew, partnering fellow Principal Shiori Kase as Clara. Soloist Skyler Martin and Artist of the Company Fernando Carratalá Coloma debut in the role of Nutcracker.

Lead Principal Fernanda Oliveira will partner First Soloist James Forbat and Lead Principals Tamara Rojo and Isaac Hernández will perform together in the roles of the Nephew and Clara.

Based on a concept by Toer van Schayk and Wayne Eagling, Nutcracker is choreographed by Eagling and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s score is to be performed live by English National Ballet Philharmonic.

This year’s tour of Wayne Eagling’s version continues the English National Ballet Company’s tradition of presenting a Nutcracker production every year since 1950, its founding year.
