FRESH North East

Moving Arts Management is inviting applications from dance artists to take part in FRESH North East, a scratch dance platform to be held at Newcastle’s Dance City on 22 February at 7:00.

FRESH North East provides an open forum for sharing and discussing new work. Artists present work at an early stage of development in an informal studio setting. The event is designed to bridge the gap between what happens in the studio and on the stage, providing an opportunity for experimentation, and to foster discussion of new work.

The programme will include up to 5 artists or companies, each sharing up to 10 minutes of work-in-progress. The sharings will happen in succession, followed by a facilitated discussion. Artists have the opportunity to pose questions to the audience gaining specific feedback. There will also be networking opportunities before and after the event.

FRESH North East will take place in an informal studio setting with little or no technical support available at the event. During the afternoon of Thursday 22 February, artists and companies will be given rehearsal times in a space—which may not be the performance space—of approximately 25 minutes.

The deadline for applications is Monday 29 January at 5PM.
