Two productions showcasing Jasmin Vardimon Company's work open in London within a week of each other at the end of April. They come hot on the heels of the announcement of the company’s brand new adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Pinocchio.

On April 26, The Royal Opera presents the second revival of Tim Albery’s production of Wagner’s Tannhäuser, which opens with the Venusberg bacchanale choreographed by Jasmin Vardimon. On April 22, Vardimon’s professional development company, JV2, takes to the stage of the Lillian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells.

Vardimon created JV2 for at the recently qualified or those already working professionally. This year's JV2 is an ensemble of 16 young international dancers, hand-picked by Vardimon.

JV2 2016 showcases the current company and features the work of Vardimon herself and that of current Company members Esteban Fourmi and Aoi Nakamura (with their company AΦE) and former company member Vinicus Salles.

Vardimon’s (in between) was first created for the National Youth Dance Company in 2013 and premièred at Sadlers Wells. Trapped in flux between the force of the group and the power of the individual, the work echoes relationships between humans and the natural environment.

Ashford-based AΦE presents a work that questions the notion of presence and the realms of studio to performance and Vinicius Salles offers an inquiry of social judgments, acceptance of differences and superficial assumptions of the “other”.
