A co-production between the National Theatre of Scotland and Newcastle’s Live Theatre, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour, which played at Live in October 2015, is to transfer to the West End in May.

The play, written by Lee Hall and based on the novel The Sopranos by Alan Warner, is directed by Vicky Featherstone, who is now Artistic Director of the Royal Court and was Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Scotland from its beginning in 2005 to 2012.

The West End run of Our Ladies... will be produced by Sonia Freidman Productions, Scott M. Delman and Tulchin Bartner Productions at the Duke of York’s, booking initially from 15 May (previews from 9 May) to 2 September. Ticket prices start at £10, with 30,000 priced at £30 and under throughout the run, and go on sale on 31 January. All preview tickets will be £30 or less.

Live’s Artistic Director Max Roberts said, “I'm thrilled that the country's leading commercial producer Sonia Friedman has taken such an imaginative decision to give Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour another life following its national and international tours and runs at Edinburgh, Live Theatre and the National Theatre, London. I'm delighted that a commissioned production by Live Theatre in partnership with National Theatre of Scotland with such a talented ensemble of young Scottish actresses will command a major West End Stage.”

The last Live Theatre production to have a West End outing was another of Lee Hall’s plays, The Pitmen Painters, directed by Roberts, which played at the Duchess Theatre from October 2011 to April 2012.
