NTC is a small-scale touring company which has been in existence since 1978, beginning life as a theatre-in-education company funded by Northumberland County Council. Its artistic policy is to take professional theatre to “theatreless zones in rural areas where access to live theatre is otherwise limited.” It is based at Alnwick Playhouse, which it owns.
