At Northern Stage Tallest Tales from the Furthest Forest (for the under-6s) continues until 4 January in Stage 2 and in Stage 1 Dark Woods, Deep Snow. A Grimm Tale for Christmas opens on Tuesday and runs until 28 December.

From Friday to Saturday, Between the Lines, plays by 13-year-olds performed by professional actors, is at Live Theatre.

The Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre's panto Sleeping Beauty runs until 30 December.

Cinderella opens at Sunderland Empire on Friday and runs until 5 January.

Christmas Tales and Winter Stories with Tony Wilson and Tom McConville is at Arts Centre Washington on Wednesday.
