Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty continues at Newcastle Theatre Royal until Saturday.

At Northern Stage this week John Godber’s new play Shafted! runs from Tuesday to Saturday (Wednesday’s performance is at 6pm and not the usual 7.30). On Thursday in Stage 3 Caroline Liversidge performs her one-woman show A Living.

Iris continues at Live Theatre until 30th April.

On Wednesday Alphabetti's Write Longer presents Trolley Boy by David Raynor, and then on Friday Josh Coates & Friends present The 24 Hour Theatre Challenge.

At 6pm on Tuesday is Dance City's annual Northern Platforms, the best of dance being created in the North East and by specially invited guests from elsewhere. This year's programme is Lizzie J Klotz’s To Suit (North East), Ashley Jack & Levant Nyembo’s The Unknown (Scotland), Lauren Tucker (North West) and Crystal Zellwood’s Evolutio (Yorkshire).

Billy Elliot the Musical continues at Sunderland Empire until 30th April.

Unlimited Theatre Company brings an interactive game show (for age 7+), Play Dough, to Arts Centre Washington on Thursday at 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Caroline Liversidge brings A Living to South Shields’s Customs House Studio on Friday.

On Wednesday Kelly-Abbott Dance Theatre brings Launch Day to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham.

The Northern Stage production of Get Carter comes to Durham’s Gala Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday.

The Vienna Festival Ballet brings Coppélia to Middlesbrough Theatre on Tuesday and on Thursday at 1.30 and 5pm Scamp Theatre presents children’s show Tiddler & Other Terrific Tales (for age 3+).

On Wednesday Caroline Liversidge premieres her one-woman show A Living at ARC Stockton.

From Tuesday to Saturday The Original Theatre Company & Birdsong Productions present Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path at Darlington Civic.

Ayckbourn’s Round and Round the Garden is at Harrogate Theatre from Thursday to Saturday.
