Chitty Chitty Bang Bang comes to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal from Wednesday until 12 June. From Wednesday to Saturday in The Studio, Project A, the theatre’s training course for young actors, presents 13 by Mike Bartlett.

From Friday until 18 June, Northern Stage presents its in-house production of Julie, Zinnie Harris’ updated version of Strindberg’s Miss Julie.

At Live Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday, Curious Monkey presents preggers, written & performed by Amy Golding, in the Studio. On Sunday in the Main Theatre, it’s Rendezvous—Wish You Were Here, a fundraising event for the Julia Darling Travel Fellowship with poetry, music, cabaret and cocktails to celebrate her life and work.

On Friday, The Naked Truth comes to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House for one night only.

From Wednesday to Saturday, Greyscale presents Gods Are Fallen and All Safety Gone at Alphabetti.

From Tuesday to Saturday, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat comes to Sunderland Empire.

Stan’s Cafe presents Made Up at Arts Centre Washington on Thursday and Friday.

At the Customs House in South Shields from Monday to Friday, it’s The TakeOver, when young people take over the venue with workshops and shows that they want. On Wednesday evening, the theatre presents A Night for Nad, a celebration of the life of dancer and choreographer Nadia Elleithy Wearn who died some years ago at the age of 31. Finally, on Sunday 5 June at 2:30, the People’s Theatre Company presents children’s show Don’t Dribble on the Dragon! for age 2+ and from Sunday to Tuesday 7 (at various times). Wave, inspired by The Tempest, is a multi-sensory play for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, exploring the loving relationship between parent and child (for age 11+).

Don’t Dribble on the Dragon! comes to Alnwick Playhouse on Thursday at 2:30.

Don’t Dribble on the Dragon! also moves to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Friday at 2:00.

At the Playhouse Whitley Bay at 2:00 on Saturday, TaleGate Theatre Productions presents children’s musical The Giant’s Loo Roll.

On Sunday 5 at 1:30PM and 3:30PM, Aliens Love Underpants comes to Durham’s Gala Theatre.

At Middlesbrough Theatre this week: on Wednesday at 1PM, London Contemporary Theatre presents Stig of the Dump and on Friday evening, Theatre Tours International presents Under Milk Wood by Dylan Thomas, performed by Guy Masterson.

On Friday and Saturday at 2:30 and 6:00, Jacksons Lane and Lost in Translation Circus presents The Hogwallops at ARC Stockton.

On Tuesday, Darlington Civic is holding a fundraising variety show, Live at the Hippodrome, compèred by Christopher Biggins, who began his panto career at the theatre in the '70s, and starring Mari Wilson.

On Friday, Square Peg Theatre Company presents The Maids by Jean Genet at the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond.

At Harrogate Theatre this week, Gonzo Moose presents Great Scott, the story of how Captain Scott and his men saved the world from the invaders from outer space, on Tuesday. Then, at 11AM and 2PM on Saturday, Aliens Love Underpants is in the Main House.
