Ray Cooney’s Out of Order comes to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal from Tuesday to Saturday.

Frozen Light in association with New Wolsey Theatre brings Home, which immerses audiences with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties in a multi-sensory story of discovery, to Northern Stage on Monday and Tuesday (various times).

Also on Tuesday in Stage 3, Jordan Carling presents It’s Not The Character’s Problem, a piece of autobiographical storytelling that challenges preconceived notions of masculinity. Then on Thursday, also in Stage 3, is Playing Up 5, eight new short plays by local writers.

Finally on Friday and Saturday in Stage 1, Mark Murphy’s V-TOL presents Out of This World, which combines text, physical theatre, aerial movement, live original music, special effects and interactive projection.

Letters to Myself, written by Becci Sharrock, is at Live Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday sees a fundraiser for NE actor David Whitaker who suffered a strike five years ago while on stage in a Live Theatre/Soho Theatre production. On Sunday, Live Lab presents the latest in its 10 Minutes to… series. This time it’s 10 Minutes to… Reach Inside and features seven new 10-minute plays.

At Dance City on Friday, 201 Dance presents Smother, a contemporary hip hop production touching on themes of addiction, obsession, and the meaning of commitment.

Sunfest, the University of Sunderland Faculty of Arts Design and Media showcase, continues at Arts Centre Washington until Saturday.

In a caravan on the terrace behind the Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens The Paper Birds presents Mobile on Friday and Saturday (various times: six times each day) as part of Sunderland Stages.

SA productions, a NE company made up of both long-standing professionals plus the next generation of up and coming talent, presents Willy Russell’s Our Day Out at the Customs House in South Shields on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on Saturday and Sunday, a new musical version of The Railway Children comes to the theatre. Performances are at 4PM on Saturday and 12PM and 4PM on Sunday.

Art with Heart presents Declaration at Alnwick Playhouse on Tuesday.

Proper Job Theatre Company will give a rehearsed reading of its latest production, Medusa, in the Green Room at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Tuesday.

Mr Corvan’s Music Hall, a new musical play, comes to the Gala in Durham from Thursday to Saturday.

On Thursday, Company Gavin Robertson presents The Six-Sided Man at Middlesbrough Theatre on Thursday. Then on Saturday at 6PM, Ballet UK presents Alice in Wonderland.

On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Jabberwocky Market presents Early Doors at The Hole in the Wall, Horsemarket, Darlington.

A new play by Nick Lane and Fiona Wass, Hopeless Romantics, premières in The Studio at Harrogate Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday.
