Anatomy of the Piano (for beginners)

Edfringe hit show for the over-6s Anatomy of the Piano (for beginners) comes to The Sage in Gateshead this month.

The show, written and performed by Will Pickvance and directed by Magda Dragan with illustrations by Tim Vincent-Smith, tells the story of Will who dreams of being an astronaut, asks Father Christmas for a spaceship—and gets a piano!

The show takes Will, and the audience, into the world of pianos—where they come from; how they evolved; and why they make a pretty cool Christmas present. Featuring Bach's cave piano, Beethoven's bad moods and a jam with jazz legend 'Fats' Waller, it involves interactive storytelling and songs, hand-drawn projections, whirlwind live piano playing and plenty of audience participation.

Tickets for the show, which is on Sunday 28 May at 2PM, are priced from £7.60 with family tickets available.
