Death by Fatal MurderThis year's Classic Thriller Season at Nottingham's Theatre Royal is being extended from four to five weeks.

Anthony Shaffer's Whodunnit, Francis Durbridge's Murder in the Small Hours, Tim Kelly's adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Final Twist by Ken Whitmore and Alfred Bradley, and Brian Clemens's Shock! will be performed from 30 July until 1 September.

Bosses at Nottingham's Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall say the June to August season "is unashamedly full of summertime fun, from the tropical sunshine of South Pacific to the smouldering cell blocks of Chicago, from the original cast of Birds of a Feather reunited on stage to the hilarious and irreverent Avenue Q".

Musicals start the season in the Theatre Royal as Connie Fisher, Michael Xavier and Lucy van Gasse star in Leonard Bernstein's Wonderful Town from 15 until 19 May before Samantha Womack, Matthew Cammelle, Alex Ferns and Daniel Koek take to the stage in South Pacific from 29 May until 9 June.

Peter Gordon's Death by Fatal Murder, which was part of last year's Classic Thriller Season, is back from 11 until 16 June and is followed by Hayley Mills and Belinda Lang in Ladies in Lavender, based on the film written and directed by Charles Dance.

Avenue Q returns to Nottingham from 25 to 30 June; Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph get back together for the stage version of Birds of a Feather from 2 to 7 July; and up to 100 young dancers will get their chance to shine in English Youth Ballet's production of Swan Lake on 27 and 28 July.

In the Royal Concert Hall, Flawless and English National Ballet come together in a combination of street dance, acrobatics and ballet on 9 and 10 June.

Other highlights include the original cast of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reunited on stage on 21 June; Chicago from 13 until 18 August; and a new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express from 21 August until 1 September.
