More Empire shows announced

Sunderland Empire has announced more shows between November 2019 and March 2020 which will join the already announced musicals The Book of Mormon (28 August to 7 September), On Your Feet (30 September to 5 October), Annie (7–12 October), Motown the Musical and The Bodyguard (12–23 November).

From 5 to 9 November, 9 to 5 the Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and starring Amber Davies, comes to Sunderland, telling the story of three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss.

Perennial favourite Blood Brothers returns to the Empire from 3 to 7 December and it is followed by the panto Cinderella, running from 13 December to 5 January.

Panto is followed by Curtains (21–25 January), the comedy whodunit starring Jason Manford. After that comes the new touring production of Cabaret (28 January to 1 February) with John Partridge and The Sound of Music (11–15 February).

Ellen Kent Opera returns to the Empire with La Bohème (28 February) and Madama Butterfly (29 February). Then Birmingham Royal Ballet presents Swan Lake (12–14 March), which will be followed by the return to the Empire of Beautiful—The Carole King Musical (17–21 March) and finally Riverdance–The New 25th Anniversary Show runs from 1 to 3 May.
