At Northern Stage, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz continues in Stage 1 and Up and Out Christmas Sprout continues in Stage 2, both until 2 January.

At Live Theatre on Monday, Live Lab Christmas Adventures features a revival of Mary, Jesus’s Mam by Allison Carr, Matilda Neill, Rowan McCabe and Matt Miller exploring the darker side of Christmas in The Holiday, a Christmas Mixtape and a new play by Nina Berry, The Terminal Velocity of Snowflakes.

Newcastle Panto Company’s Aladdin is at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House until 30 December.

Alphabetti Theatre presents Carols & Cocktails until Wednesday.

Aladdin runs at Sunderland Empire until 3 January.

Alice in Wonderland continues at the Customs House in South Shields until 9 January and Santa’s Naughty Elf & the Christmas Caper for very young children plays in The Studio until Thursday (various times).

Little Red Riding Hood at The Maltings in Berwick on Saturday runs until 30 December.

Oddsocks presents The Legend of King Arthur at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham until 28 December.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs runs at Playhouse Whitley Bay until 3 January.

Cinderella continues at the Gala in Durham until 3 January and Elf’s Christmas Toys (for the under-5s) runs until Thursday.

Goldilocks & the Three Amazing Bears is at Billingham Forum until 3 January.
