Mark is a Lecturer in Theatre at the University of York's department of Theatre, Film and Television. His research focuses on new writing, devising, performance and physical theatre, and the overlaps between these fields.
He studied at Oxford and York, where he also completed his MA and PhD. He has also directed and performed in productions throughout England and abroad, starting up an English-language student theatre company while working in Finland, and more recently directing for the York Shakespeare Project, Script Yorkshire and York Settlement Players.
