Othniel Smith is the author of the plays “Giant Steps” (produced at the Oval House and Cardiff’s Chapter Arts Centre in 1998, and published in “New Welsh Drama II” - Parthian Books, 2001), “Fight Of The Century” (produced by BBC Wales and the Sherman Theatre in 2002), and “See The Glory” (read as part of Talawa’s “Manz Like Me” season at the Young Vic in November 2008). He has also penned a number of short stories and plays for BBC Radio Four - including “Thank-You for Talking To Me Africa” (1994), and “Man Talk” (2001); as well as episodes of the popular children’s television series “The Story Of Tracy Beaker”, “Kerching”, “Hilltop Hospital” and "Tati's Hotel"; and the music-themed novel “Yer Blues”. He has a doctorate in Independent Film from the University of Glamorgan, and has written and directed a number of short films.
